International friendly: England v Wales

Venue: London's Wembley, the capital Date: Thursday, 9 October Kick-off: 7:45 PM BST

The Wales head coach states the English squad depth is so impressive that a boxing promoter would not pair them against the Welsh team.

The Welsh squad meet England in a friendly at the national stadium on Thursday before their important World Cup qualifier against Belgium next the following week.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has left the such as Bellingham, Foden and Jack Grealish out of his squad for the match against Wales and their qualifying game against Latvia.

"England have a incredible squad, similar to France," the coach remarked.

"They have a transfer market value of 1.4 billion pounds, ours is £170m. Were you a fight promoter, you would not put us together. It wouldn't be allowed."

Bellamy says ensuring the Welsh team can compete with the talented opponents is a "driving force".

Bellamy added: "Our team do not rely on market prices, but the reality is England have more than one team. They possess multiple and France and other nations are similarly stacked. They have loads of great players and that's a fact."

"A defender went out with injury the recently and there's only 24 more to choose from! They have over sixty players. I'd love us to be well-equipped like them."

These two nations last faced each other at the 2022 World Cup in the Middle East, when the English emerged as easy 3-0 winners in a fixture before Gareth Southgate's side reached the last eight.

The new manager is Thomas Tuchel, a Champions League and world club winner at Chelsea who has won league championships in France and his native Germany.

Bellamy was previously an coach at Anderlecht and the English club to Kompany, who succeeded him at the German giants.

"Tuchel's an outstanding manager - his record speak for themselves," Bellamy added.

"I have a degree of understanding because the club he left I know people who have joined. I gain a bit of an insight there of his methods and it's very impressive. "

"His tactical detail is elite and I wanted to be up against that - observe how you're going to adapt because he will. I can learn from it. I'd love to reach that level."
